The circuit board comes with a programmable
temperature control circuit that is ready to drive a cooling device (up to
500mA).
It's size is 80mm by 60mm and is perfectly
suited
for mounting on top of any personal computer CPU heat sink.
As a customer, you may choose the heat sink of your liking based on intended
application. Next choose a method of cooling among a vast number
of
computer CPU cooling technologies. Add a standardized lens and you have a
complete light engine. Mount the engine inside a case
that suits your
needs and you will have successfully created the ideal LED light fixture.
Total price on this unit depends on the type
of LED
chosen. The base price on the board without LEDs is $35; less in
quantity. Estimated cost of LEDs is $75 to $100.
Total light output: RGBA - 1500 to 3000
Lumens; 36 Cool White - 3600 to 6000 lumens.
Note: These light output calculations
are theoretical. Actual total simultaneous light output may be limited
to the board's ability to dissipate heat. The customer who is
sponsoring this development is looking for color lighting and will likely
use one or two colors at a time in which case maximum operational lumens is
easily achievable for those chosen colors without having an over-heating
condition occur.
Note: Lens in the drawing is a
commercially available through Mouser.com. This is a Lamina Titan lens
product.
