LEDs are solid physical devices and they are not easily damaged by light vibration as a normal light bulb or as a florescent tube can be.  However, they are made of materials that can be damaged if struck by minor force.

So to counter this weakness, we developed a set of very strong acrylic protective cover lenses to fit a wide variety of the most popular LEDs on the market today.  These lenses fit hi-current Luxeon, Lamina Ceramics, Cree, and many other LEDs.

This is our base plate design.  We have not produced this product yet.  The design is ready for when the demand calls on us to move foreword with the evolution of this product line.

There are four versions of this lens; two are great for indoor use and two for outdoor use.    The indoor lenses are mounted by a "screw up from below" design.  The "screw up" design reduces the obstruction of the light and removes shadows because screw heads are not on top of the lens.  You may also use the "screw up" design in applications where you may not want the general public to tamper with your light fixture.

The outdoor lenses are a "screw down design" and these "screw down" lenses also contain an o-ring to help create a tight water resistant seal.   The "screw down" design is the strongest mounting method and when paired up with the correct o-ring, should be suitable for use under water.

The acrylic is not less than 1mm thick any where on the lens and it's dome shape adds strength.  You can stand on top of these lenses and the weight of an normal adult can be supported without plastic failure.

Here are the two profiles.  One is the smooth top and the other is the bubble top.

Each profile has the a version with each screw design.  The lens on the left is the screw down o-ringed version the the lens on the right the screw up from below design (no o-ring).

Acrylic is an excellent plastic.  It looks like crystal and it can be used in almost any application.  It's a hard and UV resistant material and should last for many years of daily use.
