The industry of LED lighting and control is very much in it's infancy and there is a tremendous amount of uncertainly about how to implement the technology.  If you call LED lighting manufacturers you'll frequently hear questions like:
  • What LEDs and light fixtures do you have?
  • What Power Supplies are you planning to use?
  • What is your budget?
  • How are you going to control the system?

We strongly believe customers don't want to face the daunting task of making all the technical decisions.  They want a desired result and they don't want to be burned with risk of making a technical mistake.

We are AsianSignals are working very hard to simplify equipment design  without removing too many valuable options from customer control.

AsianSignals is pioneering a modular approach in reducing the complexity of LED lighting systems.  At the same time, our design reduces the cost of maintenance as well.

AsianSignals will shortly ramp up production on a line of modular control and driver units that match the PC ATX form factor and accommodate those same power supplies.  This approach allows you to purchase a unit similar to what you see below, place it inside a PC case, plug in LED light fixtures, and go.  These units are currently DMX controlled (computer controlled), but manual hand switches can be manufactured based on individual requirements.

This is our initial proof of concept unit that went into service with a customer in France.

This is a 60 channel unit.  Each driver channel outputs between 700mA and 2.4A (max 3.5A)

This is a DMX protocol controlled unit and is connected to a PC using a USB serial port.

The unit accommodates up to 4 PC power supplies for raw driver power.

Our philosophy of concentrating the power, control, and drivers in one place, greatly reduces the complexity and cost of any installation. Further, the adoption of the PC case and power supplies means that you can easily customize it's appearance and replace power supplies quickly as the need arises.

Clearly there are still a few challenges ahead before we have removed all the rough edges from large scale LED lighting system ownership, but we are well on the way to making systems like these not only possible but also financially sensible purchases.

Here is our most recent version of this system is much more refined...
When Tony's Disco (Pattaya, Thailand) called on us, we delivered.  Tony wanted to illuminate his disco so the patrons could see each other in the correct light.  However, he didn't want an inferior cheap design.  He wanted consistent beautiful coverage that was smooth, flicker free, reliable, and controlled by his legacy DMX lighting system.

The answer to his needs was a large scale high-speed, high-current LED controller and driver module and 20 LaminaLighting Titan RGB LED light fixtures.   The entire solution covered approximately 70% of his floor space and was powered with only two personal computer power supplies.  The AsianSignals unit is a low maintenance, low heat, and low power consuming solution over traditional high wattage Par light fixtures.

All the equipment you see here was entirely manufactured by AsianSignals in Thailand.

System Features:
  • DMX Capable for 512 Channels (80 channels shown).
  • Adapts to standard PC power supplies.
  • High speed flicker free hardware dedicated PWM output.
  • Drivers are configurable up to 5 Amps per channel.
  • Light fixtures are temperature controlled with feedback for LED protection.
